Environmental and Resource Efficiency Business Support
A new raft of help and guidance is being made available by Resource Efficiency East (REE), a programme jointly funded by the East of England Development Agency and the European Regional Development Fund.
The programme is specifically designed to support small to medium sized enterprises and is being delivered on EEDA's behalf by Renewables East.
Resource Efficiency East, working with Business Link, will provide SMEs with one-to-one on-site guidance tailored on how they can cut costs through resource efficiency and hence boost their competitiveness.
The project aims to save the region’s SMEs £12 million a year, and cut water consumption by 765,000 cubic metres, landfill by 81,000 tonnes and carbon dioxide emissions by 40,000 tonnes.
SMEs will get help identifying resource savings, drawing up action plans, and making contact with experts who can help them develop the right resource efficiency measures for their business.
Companies wishing to receive advice and guidance should contact Business Link East in the first instance. Call 08457 17 16 15 or visit www.businesslink.gov.uk
EEDA also continues to support Eastex, an online regional materials exchange enabling companies to either dispose of material that would otherwise be sent to landfill or to source materials which would otherwise come from virgin sources.
