Steve Cox
Executive director, spatial economy
Steve joined EEDA in January 2000 as planning and infrastructure advisor and since then has led many of EEDA’s outward facing activities leading to his current position as executive director, spatial economy.
Since joining EEDA Steve has managed the introduction of several new EEDA responsibilities including Business Link, Tourism and the Olympics. He is currently leading EEDA’s work to prepare for the sub-national review implementation and EEDA’s new shared responsibility for regional planning and the single regional strategy.
Steve leads EEDA’s regeneration activities including the delivery of several flagship development projects and the preparation of Integrated Development Programmes (IDPs) for places across the region. He also leads the organisation’s work on regional planning, transport and housing as well as shaping EEDA’s sustainability policy and practice and its support for the rural economy, including through the RDPE programme.
Prior to joining EEDA Steve managed the delivery of major development sites at Hertfordshire County Council and prior to that spent a number of years on regional planning and economic development in London.
