Enterprising Britain 09
The hunt is on to find the most enterprising place in Britain...
What is Enterprising Britain 2009?
Enterprising Britain 2009 is a nationwide competition to find the most enterprising place in the UK - a location where enterprise has helped to transform a community and led to improved economic prospects for the area.
In last year’s competition, the UK Centre for Carnival Arts was selected to represent the East of England in the national competition. The centre was recognised for its aim of providing a dedicated centre to develop and promote carnival arts internationally and embrace the cultural diversity of Luton through enterprise.
Now the hunt is on to find new and exciting projects to fly the flag for our region in 2009.
How does it work?
In May, one regional winner will be selected to represent the East of England in the national competition. The regional winner will then play host to Enterprising Britain’s independent judging panel - a chance to further highlight and emphasise their achievements.
The national winner of Enterprising Britain 2009 will be announced in September at a glamorous awards dinner in London, with the winning candidate representing Britain at the European Enterprise Awards later this year.
EEDA will work closely with the regional winner, supporting and preparing them for the national competition and giving them the best chance of success.
What’s in it for me?
The competition can provide an international stage for your project - an opportunity to attract regional, national and European prestige and publicity. Commemorative prizes, award ceremonies and a nationally-recognised winner’s logo are further rewards for the successful entrant.

"Enterprising Britain is a great opportunity to celebrate some of the enterprise success stories around the UK. It raises awareness of those people who really have made a difference to their communities, and helped to create a more dynamic enterprise culture for everyone."
Peter Jones, Enterprising Britain Judge 2008.
