EEDA's lead role

Regional development agencies (RDAs) manage their relationships with core government departments through one RDA acting as the lead - EEDA manages the relationship with the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).

On behalf of the other RDAs, EEDA works closely with central government and other national organisations on the issues of sustainable development, climate change and rural development.

All of the RDAs have a strong track record in delivering rural and sustainable development programmes through partnership working. Examples of this work can be found in the following publications:
