A strong economy depends on a strong labour market. Businesses need a continuous supply of well-trained, talented and hard-working people. Equally, people need the skills and opportunities to secure work and support their families.
That’s why EEDA is right behind skills development across the East of England. Through the £9.3 million Beyond 2010 programme and the Train to Gain offering, employees from businesses across the region can get subsidised training.
In these tougher times, Response 2 Redundancy is helping people who face the prospect of losing their jobs to re-train and become more competitive in the jobs market.
EEDA plays a crucial role in giving people the skills and confidence to secure work or to set up their own business through the Economic Participation programme.
By supporting the Third sector and Social Enterprises, EEDA is helping people into work and enabling businesses to improve their productivity and competitiveness.
We are also contributing to the national debate around Migrant workers and leading research on which national policy-making can be made.
