Transforming places

EEDA invests with partners to regenerate and rejuvenate places making the East of England an even better place to live, work, learn and invest in.

Click here for the latest update on future delivery plans for EEDA-funded business support programmes and European funding streams, and details of the activities we have now stopped.

The East of England is a beautiful and diverse region, rich with cultural heritage, international trade links and iconic landmarks.

The right mix of business, facilities, homes and skills creates places that are successful and popular in the long-term. It’s all linked-up - businesses need good infrastructure to be competitive, people need a vibrant and attractive environment in which to live and work.

EEDA works with partners across the region to create the right blend.

We make major capital investments in high-impact projects like University Campus Suffolk, Eastport Outer Harbour and Colchester’s Community Football Stadium.

We also invest in the region’s cultural quarters; projects like the UK Centre for Carnival Arts in Luton and the new Royal Opera House production facility in Thurrock.

‘Green infrastructure’ is another priority. Projects like Wat Tyler Country Park and Welney Wetlands have all benefited from EEDA’s backing.

Investment planning is the key. EEDA’s work with local authorities and other strategic partners to create integrated development programmes has set a clear direction for how the region can achieve sustainable growth. We’re also taking a lead on identifying transport priorities for the whole region.
