Next generation broadband
EEDA have been reviewing the provision of next generation access to broadband across the region and have developed a strategy to encourage wider availability of this key technology using EEDA and Rural Development Programme for England funding.
The starting point was EEDA's Eastern Region Broadband Uplift Scheme (EREBUS) which captured demand and demonstrated the need for commercial investment.
The EREBUS website closed at the end of April 2011 as part of EEDA’s transition and closure plans.
EREBUS and additional initiatives in delivering next generation access to broadband are included in the Next Generation Broadband Access Strategy for the East of England.
