Hethel Engineering Centre (HEC) is an EEDA-funded enterprise hub dedicated to the support of advanced engineering and manufacturing businesses in the East of England.
A £5 million partnership project led by EEDA, Norfolk County Council, South Norfolk Council and Lotus, HEC opened its doors in February 2006 offering flexible terms on office and workshop tenancy, specialist business support and consultancy.
Currently home to around 30 small to medium-sized businesses, EEDA recently pledged a further £1.2 million towards an extension project early in 2010 to service industry demand for additional workspace.
To date, business activity in and around HEC has helped to create 105 new high-skill, high-value jobs, safeguarded 16 jobs, created 18 new businesses and supported 906 businesses.
“HEC has made a significant contribution to Active Technologies success. We see working with HEC as a key component of our business development strategy.” Paul Spinks, managing director of HEC resident company Active Technologies.
