Rainham Marshes nature reserve
19 May 2008
Rainham Marshes lies on the north bank of the Thames on the border between London and Essex. It is a haven for wildlife in a highly industrialised area.
For over 100 years it was closed to the public, but now - with the help of EEDA's Regional Renaissance programme - it has been turned into a flagship visitor attraction, and a vital green space in an area earmarked for rapid development.
