European Programme Strategy Group (EPSG)

The EPSG is a cross programme partnership group established to oversee implementation of European Programmes in the East of England Region.

The EPSG is the Programme Monitoring Committee for the regional ERDF Competitiveness Programme and is the Regional Committee for the national ESF Programme. It has responsibility for developing links with the Territorial Cooperation (Transnational, Interregional and Cross Border) Programmes in the region and may also consider items relating to the Rural Development Programme for England. The EPSG meets quarterly.

EPSG membership includes key national and regional partners, representatives from business, trade union congress, community/voluntary sector, regional assembly, higher education and others. It is chaired by the Regional Director of the Government Office for the East of England (GO-East).

EPSG Sub-Committees

Performance Improvement Group (PIG)

The Performance Improvement Group will have responsibility for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the region’s Structural Funds and their delivery arrangements under the direction of the EPSG. PIG is chaired by East of England Regional Assembly (EERA).

ERDF Competitiveness Delivery Group (CDG)

The CDG performs at the operational level. It considers Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for projects seeking ERDF funding, and recommends either rejection or the issuing of invitation to develop a full bid. CDG also receives the results of ERDF project appraisal of full bids and recommends to EEDA either rejection of applications or that grant offers are issued.

Membership of the group is drawn from a wide range of partners with knowledge and expertise relevant to the programme meta-theme 'towards low carbon economic growth'. The CDG is chaired by EEDA.

Environmental Sustainability Group (ESG)

The role of the Environmental Sustainability Group is to provide advice and expertise to the EPSG and promote best practice in the delivery of Environmental Sustainability across the region’s European Structural Fund programmes. ESG is chaired by The Environment Agency.

Territorial Co-operation Delivery Group (TCDG)

Equalities Group (EG)

The role of the Equalities Group is to provide advice and expertise to the EPSG and promote excellence in the delivery of equality of opportunity across the region’s European Structural Fund programmes.
