EEDA says 'Stay East' this Easter

The East of England Development Agency (EEDA) is encouraging families, friends and individuals to stay local, reduce their carbon emissions and show their commitment to the region by staying East this Easter.

David Marlow, chief executive, EEDA said:

"The East of England is home to some beautiful coastlines, exciting and diverse regional cities, historic landmarks and fantastic attractions, making it especially perfect to enjoy some fun-filled family days-out. Through its programmes and projects, EEDA is taking a leading role in investing in making the whole region a great place to stay and visit."

With support from EEDA the countryside, attractions and historical landmarks are truly wonderful places so why not take the opportunity to visit one of these top tourist spots?

  • Pick up an Easter treat at Anglesey Abbey, Gardens and Lode Mill
  • Discover the who, what, when, why and how of aircraft at Duxford imperial war museum 
  • Check out the Easter Arts trail at Welney Wetlands Centre and find lots of fund things to see and do
  • Leave your car behind and stroll through the lovely countryside at Wat Tyler Park
  • Visit the Easter Eggstravanza at Rainham Marshes 
  • Take a trip to the historical and record breaking Southend Pier 
  • Get some fresh air and visit the highest point in the East of England at Dunstable Downs
  • Look out for some eggs and birds of a different sort this Easter at Cley Marshes
  • Discover Great Yarmouth's fascinating history at the Time and Tide Museum
  • Take a walk on the wild-side and enjoy the beautiful Suffolk coast at Minsmere 
  • Visit the natural outstanding beauty of Snape Maltings whilst taking in the tranquil and picturesque surroundings.

David added:
