Board members

EEDA's board includes some of the region's leading business people and representatives of local government, trade unions, higher education and the voluntary sector.

They bring a wealth of experience and expertise from across the region.

• Richard Ellis
  Chair Richard was reappointed as chair of the EEDA for a further three years in December 2006, which has now been extended for up to a further year to December 2010.
• Marco Cereste
  Deputy chair Marco is the Chair of a group of private family businesses.
• Sheila Childerhouse
  Deputy chair Sheila has over 20 years’ experience in the NHS, beginning in 1984, as a member of the former Norfolk Family Practitioners Committee.
• Tim Wilson
  Board member Professor Tim Wilson is vice chancellor and chief executive of the University of Hertfordshire, where he led the £120 million de Havilland campus project from concept to successful opening in September 2003.
• Karen Livingstone
  Board member Karen Livingstone is director of strategic partnerships at the East of England Strategic Health Authority.
• Paul Burall
  Board member Paul Burall was elected to King's Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council in 1991 and was leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on the Council until 2005.
• Stuart Evans
  Board member Stuart Evans has been an entrepreneurial business leader in Cambridge since 1983, having been founding CEO at Plastic Logic (2000-06) and Cotag International (1983-98).
• Beverly Hurley
  Board member Bev Hurley joined the EEDA board on 14 December 2007.
• Lord Edward Iveagh
  Board member Edward Iveagh has been chairman of Elveden Farms Ltd since 1992 and has transformed the 22,500 acre Suffolk estate into a multi-faceted, diverse and profitable business.
• Will Pope
  Board member Will Pope is currently non-executive chairman of the health, safety and environmental businesses IEG Technologies UK Ltd, Cranfield, Bedfordshire, AAR Environmental Ltd, Watford, Hertfordshire, and e-labs environmental ltd, Manchester.
• Peter McCarthy-Ward
  Board member Peter is BT's regional director for the East of England.

  Board member
• Madeline Russell
  Board member Madeline Russell joined the EEDA board on 14 December 2008 and was first elected to Bedfordshire County Council in June 2001 to represent Biggleswade.
• Shona Johnstone
  Board member Shona Johnstone joined the EEDA board on 14 December 2008 and has been a County Councillor for 15 years.
• Robert Swann
  Board member Robert Swann joined the EEDA board on 1 May 2009.
