What EEDA does for Business
A thriving business population is critical for the future prosperity of the East of England. Responsible for promoting the region's economic prosperity, EEDA's business support role is to raise levels of productivity, competitiveness and entrepreneurship in line with the regional economic strategy. We do this by:
- ensuring advice and information is easy to find and use
- establishing support which is high quality and integrated
- giving every individual with a great business idea the opportunity to turn it into reality.
EEDA fulfils this by acting as a catalyst for change and a commissioner of business support programmes - businesses may not be familiar with EEDA because much of our work is behind the scenes. We identify, listen to and assess the needs of business and, by working with partners and stakeholders, we translate this into business support initiatives. The majority of these initiatives are then delivered to business through our partners, many of whom businesses will already be familiar with.
If you're a business or would-be entrepreneur, Business Link is your gateway to support and advice - visit the website now at www.businesslink.gov.uk/east
Bringing EEDA's work to life
EEDA works in three key ways:
- Partnership working and strategy - we work with key partners within the region to develop strategy.
- Business information and signposting - whatever your business information needs Business Link is the place to go.
- Specialist support for business - a number of key programmes we fund directly in supporting those sectors and people most likely to benefit the region's economy.
You can also download our publication Reach for the Sky, which brings to life EEDA's Business Support activity by outlining our business support programmes and providing case studies of those who have benefited from them.
