Finding your A-Team
The main theme of Nigel’s talk was about building the right team and leading them effectively to outstanding success. Amongst the many pearls of wisdom Nigel gave us in an action-packed half hour, we picked out the following:
- If you want to get your team together — you’ve got to get your dream together
- Write down your gut reactions to people within 5 seconds and review them later based on experience — over time you’ll learn a lot about your judgement and where you should trust the judgement of others
- Find people who are gems, treat them like gems and they will sparkle for you
- Take a stake to your ‘psychic vampires’ — don’t let them drain you so inspire them or fire them.
