EEDA manages a number of business finance schemes designed to help businesses in the region start up and grow. These include grants to help you prove your market or expand your business and a range of loans to support business growth.

EEDA's business finance schemes include:
Grants:
- Proof of Market - grants up to £20,000 to define and quantify the market opportunity for a business. The deadline for current Proof of Market applications is Friday 10 September. Find out more. (last updated: 16 July 2010)
- Innovation Vouchers - designed to help businesses purchase academic expertise from the region's universities to support innovation and business improvement
- Grants for Research and Development - grants from £5,000 to £250,000 to help businesses carry out research and development work. As a result of the Government's review of public sector spending commitments, we will be unable to enter into new commitments for the Grant for Research and Development until further notice. (last updated: Tuesday 8 June 2010)
- Grant for Business Investment - as a result of the Government's review of public sector spending commitments, we will be unable to accept any pre or full applications for Grant for Business Investment until further notice. (last updated 27 July 2010).
Loans:
- Small Loans for Business - small loans of £500 to £50,000 for start-ups, SMEs and social enterprises
- EEDA Regional Loan (Transition) - short term loans of £100,000 to £150,000 for businesses turning over more than £1 million
- EEDA Regional Loan (Growth) - long term loans of £50,000 to £200,000 for growth businesses.

- Understanding Finance for Business - EEDA's understanding finance for business programme will help you understand and access the most appropriate form of finance for your business
- EU and Innovation Funding Support - supporting SMEs to understanding the benefits of applying for European or national R&D funding to develop and support business growth.
