New English language strategy for migrant workers
EEDA, together with partners on behalf of the regional migrant worker steering group, have launched the first regional English language strategy for migrant workers.
Introducing economic participation
Since 1 April this year, EEDA's achievements through Investing in Communities are now being taken forward as part of a new programme for economic participation. Calling the new programme 'economic participation' is a clear way of demonstrating our commitment to enhancing employability and increasing economic opportunities for people to participate fully in the region's economy.

Work-limiting illness network
On 7 February EEDA launched a learning network to capture the experiences of partners across the region who are working to help people with a long-term illness or disability into employment. At the launch event partners identified three priority issues: client engagement; employer engagement; and joined up working and commissioning.
New five-year regional contract for community development finance
Small businesses and social enterprises in deprived areas or working with hard to reach groups that are unable to access high street backing will be able to grow because of a new long-term financial scheme that offers loans to enterprises across the East of England.
